There’s an immense joy in painting and reliving the memories of my experiences, but there’s a special joy injection when I’m asked to paint the experiences of others!
This summer I was approached with a commission request to celebrate the 5th anniversary of a family dental business with a painting of the office. This dental office is in a beautifully restored older house accompanied by lovely landscaping and trees – a setting where the nervous jitters accompanying a dental visit could easily evaporate. It’s really calming. After a visit to take several photos, we narrowed it down to a few views, and after some initial rough sketches, I started work on this chosen view for a 10″ x 12″ ink and watercolour.

It’s been an honour to create an anniversary piece for this family business!
