Bought a new pen, and tried it out on several of this week’s drawings. The pen is a Platinum Desk Pen, extra fine nib. I saw this pen while taking the Craftsy course, Sketching People in Motion, with Marc Taro Holmes (fantastic course). Since I work in smaller sketchbooks, I found my Lamy Safari extra-fine fountain pen to be not fine enough, so I was interested in this very affordable pen. My verdict: Loooove it!
- Something strange – Throughout my travels around Italy, I’ve found churches that have sculptures of monkeys on them… in prominent places. I wondered whether these were not monkeys at all but an artist’s bad rendering of humans. I’ve tried to find out the symbolic meaning, but so far, no explanation. This drawing is from the front of the large cathedral in Badalucco, Liguria.
- Some toast – (From an Internet photo) I used a Uniball Signo white pigment ink pen to add the icing sugar on this French toast drawing. Also loooove this pen!
- Something that makes me smile – Coffee!
Great sketches! I really love your toast, I’d have never thought of using the white gel pen but it really does look like icing sugar 🙂
My fav is french toast. Time for dinner!
