Selective memory is an odd phenomenon. My memory has recently selected to think I had last blogged to you all this past fall. Uh… no. Seems it was almost 7 months ago!! To say other things have been taking my attention away from writing is an understatement!
To quickly catch you up: I have painted many works that I haven’t told you about, 11 to be exact, and I have been in a number of shows where some of these pieces happily found new owners. After show season, I headed over to Italy for a few months to explore new regions, partly to figure out if a future relocation might be in the cards – the answer is “not yet”. I came back to Canada one week before Christmas and merrily enjoyed the season and being home. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind. Now in this chilly January, I’m slowly getting back into the studio – mostly to clean it up.
So over the next few months, I’ll introduce you to those 11 paintings and their inspiration, and I’ll share some of the sketching I did over the fall in Italy. Sorry for these months of silence, and if you’re still reading this, thanks for hanging in with me!
I was trying not to be envious of your Italian adventure! Always glad to see your work. Regards, Stephanie Swensson
It’s been an interesting experience. But I did get lots of inspiration for new work.
