What’s your “go-to” breakfast when you travel?
In Europe, we’re always on the lookout for a good croissant or cornetto with a strong espresso. In England, the full English breakfast is a must with a strong cup of coffee. And in New York, we’re on the bagel hunt… with again, that strong cup of coffee.
Our choice in New York? Murray’s Bagels! And to honour our NYC Breakfast of Champions winner, my latest Mini Vacations ink and watercolour painting is of their Chelsea location on 8th Avenue. My husband cannot visit the city without a trip (or several) to Murray’s, and on his bagel-run last year he snapped a photo of his beloved shop. I thought it was a goofy, nostalgic act until I saw the photo and knew it would make a great painting because it captured the character of a New York City street – the various types of red brick, the fire escapes, the 19th century buildings, the colourful awnings.
Now with Mini #64 done, time for a strong cup of coffee! Enjoy!

Great job! And I’ve been in there several times 😀
